Working with the Best-Bellemore’s is always a pleasure. I was first introduced to this beautiful family by another client, Meg Poole, a couple of years ago. Meg and Myra work together and naturally, their kids are buddies, too. Thank you, Meg!
We last did a holiday mini-session in 2014 for this family of three, and Myra mentioned she liked the idea of following up with a full custom family session where we’d have more time to capture the family on their own turf. When we got together last fall at the Best-Bellemore’s home, it had been cold and rainy the day before and I wasn’t entirely sure if we’d be able to take advantage of their outdoor space for our shoot. Happily, though, the temp warmed up enough to make it comfortable to be outside and the fall foliage added nice pops of color.
The brick wall on the side of the garage in their backyard made for a wonderful backdrop/canvas for many of the photos—as did the wooden gate on the side of the yard. The contrast of the leaves on the ground and the fall foliage with the brick wall played out so beautifully against each of the family members. I love the way the wall added just the right contrast to Margot’s cute outfit. In fact, the images of Margot against the brick wall are some of my favorites from 2015! There’s something very special about the simple composition, bold colors, and Margot’s infectious smile that makes these images stand out.
Margot’s personality shines through in all of the photos, lighting up each one. You can see very clearly how much she loves her family and how much her mom and dad adore her!
The family selected their three favorite images to put on display in their home. Myra has already booked the family’s next session to do a follow-up this year and I can’t wait to capture more of Margot’s gorgeous smile on film.
