The Bonaviri family and I recently met up for the second session in their First Year photo package. The last time we got together, little baby Reed was just born and oh so tiny! Reed has come a long way these past few months and has blossomed into a smiley little guy with big blue eyes. Caroline and Micah wanted springtime photos to showcase just how handsome and big little Reed is now at his six-month session.  6-month-old boy held by mother and father in front of white fence Unfortunately, we had to reschedule this shoot a couple of times due to the unseasonably cold and rainy weather we’ve had in Washington DC this year. The original date was for the end of March, on the date Reed turned six months old. We then rescheduled for an early weekend in April, but it ended up raining all morning and we had to postpone again. Luckily, the third time was the charm. We scheduled again for the last weekend in April and despite it still being cold and cloudy (with the possibility of raining at a moment’s notice), we all decided to go ahead with the session, hoping the rain would hold out. Reed was already seven months old at this point—his mom, Caroline, didn’t want to postpone again and miss this precious time in his life. In spite of the chill in the air, the rain did stay away. We managed to get so many great images that it was extremely difficult to decide which ones to display. (I’m in love with the one of Reed with his little golfer’s hat on! So cute!) We started out at the Bonaviri’s home and ended up at two nearby parks in downtown Kensington, MD. The parks were new to me, but beautiful settings to photograph in.

The Bonaviri’s will be picking one image from each of the three sessions to create 3 pieces to display on a wall of their home showing Reed’s first year of life. We’ll be finalizing the set after his one-year session, but for now, they chose several of these images to have printed for smaller frames around the house. We also made selections that will go into the album that I’ll be creating for them at the end of the year. Through all of their interactions, it was so clear how much that little man is adored. 😀 I’m looking forward to our next session this fall to see how much Reed’s grown and changed again. dad sitting on brick step holding 6-month-old son dad holding 6-month-old son
