In preparation for the design process, I measured the space above the bed to make sure any layout ideas would fit perfectly. I also photographed the wall so I could show scaled mock-ups of my recommendations.
During the viewing session, I guided Teresa and husband Bob through a collaborative design process. I helped them narrow down the final set of images to their favorites to include one image of each of their two children, one of the siblings together, and one of the whole family. We played around with different artwork sizes and arrangements and finally settled on a combination of the four images.
Several months after the photo session, I finally had the opportunity to check out how the display of family photos looked hanging on the bedroom wall. It gave me a little thrill to see in person how lovely it all turned out. I hope this example provides a little visual inspiration for anyone considering incorporating custom photography into their home decor.

I’ve also written at greater length about the value of displaying family photos in your home, which you can read here.
