#1 DC Spring Photoshoot Location: Bishop’s Garden at the National Cathedral
First up on our list, we have Bishop’s Garden. As I’ve said before, this is one of my favorite spots. In fact, it’s an ideal setting for family photos, no matter the season. There’s plenty of room for kids to explore, and, moreover, there’s so much potential hidden within its grounds. The grounds strike a beautiful balance between being meticulously manicured and naturally serene, providing a stunning backdrop for all of your family photos.
#2 Washington DC Spring Photoshoot Locations: Montrose Park and Dumbarton Oak Park in Georgetown
Dumbarton Oak Park is part of the National Park Service (NPS)—a wooded area with trails that runs adjacent to the privately-owned Dumbarton Oak House in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC. Montrose Park is another NPS park— a beautiful location, nestled between Dumbarton Oaks Park and Oak Hill Cemetery. Together, not only do they have lots to offer kids, with the large play area in the back of the park, but they also provide exquisite DC spring photoshoot locations along the footpaths and trails leading into Rock Creek Park. Additionally, the park’s natural surroundings make it a perfect spot for both family fun and stunning photographs.
#3 DC Spring Photoshoot Location: Mitchell Park
Next, we have Mitchell Park in the Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, DC. This local city park is the perfect size—neither too large nor too small. As a result, you can easily take advantage of all the different features it offers. Personally, I love the large trees, the wide open field, and the beautiful brick works all around. Additionally, there are plenty of wonderful spots to capture that special photograph.
#4 Spring Photo Location: Meridian Hill Park
Among all the spring photoshoot locations in DC, this one stands out as perhaps the most dynamic and picturesque spot for capturing stunning shots. Not only is this a great spot for photographs, you can also keep your kids entertained for hours at this beautiful park. Furthermore, there’s something to explore in just about every corner in this Italian aristocrat inspired park. Complete with over a dozen giant stone water fountains, pools, and gorgeous architecture.
Around Your Neighborhood and In Your Own Backyard!
Finally, the best spot sometimes can be right in your own community! In all honesty, I love doing this the most. There’s something truly special about finding interesting nooks around a client’s home. Sometimes this can be in your own backyard, or by simply taking a walk around the block. Being on home turf can help first time families feel more comfortable, too. Trust me, a comfortable kiddo makes for a more photogenic kiddo. 😉
