Sometimes, timing is everything. Jenny Jensen gave birth to her daughter, Blair, in late June and wanted some mother-daughter photos. At the same time, I was launching my Limited Edition Mother & Child Mini-Sessions, in honor of World Breastfeeding Week. Thanks to the collaboration with the Breastfeeding Center, this gorgeous mother-daughter duo was able to take advantage of the terrific fundraiser.
For the photoshoot, we got together at Bishop’s Garden at National Cathedral. The Gardens are always amazing, regardless of the time of year and I of course, have some favorite spots.
Blair was about a month old when we did the shoot and was just beginning to be more alert. Babies at this age are sort of in an in-between stage (not as curled up and sleepy, but not quite reacting to external stimuli). Blair would take in the surroundings a bit, and loved gazing into her mother’s eyes. Our main focus of the mini-session was all of mom’s cuddles and capturing some sweet mother-daughter moments. Which I think we did well. I mean, how adorable is the last photo of Blair curled up in a warm embrace by her mom? Or the adorable baby kisses?
This turned out to be a wonderful session, and I’m so grateful to have met Jenny and little Blair. I look forward to photographing this little darling as she gets older.
