Northern Virginia Family Photographer On Location in Great Falls
As a Washington DC and Northern Virginia family photographer, I travel all over the region to take pictures on location with families on their own turf. A few weeks ago, I left the bustle of Washington DC behind for a family photo shoot in Great Falls, VA. Parents, Awo and Bob, along with their two young children, welcomed me into their home again for our second family portrait session.
How to Find A Family Photographer—Ask a Friend. Or Just Google “Great Falls Family Photographer”
Many families discover my services when they ask their friends for family photographer recommendations, but Awo found me simply by Googling “Northern Virginia Family Photographer.” However, unbeknownst to her, she had actually seen my photos before in person. As she flipped through my stack of holiday card samples, she stumbled across some familiar faces: her close friends, the Prices, who happen to be longtime clients of mine. Thanks to her discovery, Awo felt even more confident about choosing me to be her own Great Falls family photographer.
This year, the Prices happened to book their session for the same weekend as the Grays. As a result, moms Awo and Margot consulted not just with me, but also with each other to plan their sessions. I know this took a little bit of the stress out of getting ready for family photos.
Taking Advantage of a Great Deal For Next Family Photoshoot in Great Falls, VA
After our first family portrait session last year, Awo took advantage of my special to offer to book a follow-up session at a 50% discount and become a VIP client. It meant that Awo didn’t have to remember to get in touch with me this year to schedule her fall family photo session. That’s because I contact all of my VIP clients at the beginning of the season for priority booking.
The majority of my clients take advantage of this deal year after year—only available as an add-on to their print orders. Many tell me that they love having continuity with a trusted Northern Virginia family photographer with whom they love to work. It ensure they will have an archive of beautiful photos documenting their kids throughout their entire childhood. I feel truly gratified that I have so many beautiful, long-term relationships with so many of “my” families.

Working With An Experienced Northern Virginia Family Photographer
Brother and sister, Austen, 5, and Carolina, 3, were full of excited energy and on the move from the moment I arrived. I could feel Awo’s worry, but I know from experience that this is all part of the process of photographing kids. Thankfully, years of experience as Northern Virginia child photographer, I have several tricks to get authentic smiles.
In this case, I decided the best way to capture their personalities was to give them each a little individual attention. A few minutes of one-on-one time, away from the rest of the family, made them each feel like the star of the show and turned out to be a recipe for successful family photos!
