These adorable little guys are the sons of one of my dearest friends (high school BFF AND my maid of honor). Over the holidays, I was finally back in New York City (my hometown for those that didn’t know;-)) long enough to spend a leisurely afternoon photographing the boys and catching up with my friend. These visits are too few and far between and it makes me feel a little heartsick whenever I think about our kids not growing up together. In fact, that last time I photographed Pasqual, he was only about 6 months old. I always imagined I’d be raising my own child in NYC, but then life takes you down another path! To Washington, DC!
This photo shoot was an interesting test of my camera’s low-light ability. I decided to work with just the natural light in the living room even though it was the darkest, gloomiest day outside. In fact, it started snowing shortly after I left my friend’s house. But the soft light that was filtering in from the window behind and to the right of me was so lovely that I didn’t want to change it by using my flash.
