I recently had the privilege of getting together with a new family, the Plovnicks, for a family photos in Washington, DC. They were the top bidders at the
Murch Elementary School auction last year. After much coordinating, we were finally able to get a date on the calendar this past spring.

When we talked, I found out they wanted to capture a nice family portrait, along with pictures of the three kids together. In addition, they wanted nice images of their youngest, Valerie, who was last photographed when she was just a year old. This was a great opportunity to get updated photos of her along with the rest of the family.

Their session fell on one of the days during a record stretch of rainy weather. In fact, there was a fine drizzle coming down as I was driving over to their home. I thought we might have to cancel, but hoping for the best, I continued on to their house. Luckily, the rain never got heavier than that. It turned out to be a lovely evening, even if a little wet. The photos all turned out lovely as well. The family was adorably dressed and would you look at that gorgeous red hair!

All three of the kids were very easy to work with. This, of course, translated into laid back and relaxed photos that highlighted the kids’ personalities. You can see Rosemary’s spunky nature just by the look in her eyes. Nine-year-old Kevin looks very much the distinguished older brother. Don’t you think? The photo of the whole family turned out beautifully, as well, showcasing the handsome family in front of their home.

The Plovnicks plan to display the family photo prominently in their living room. A second photo of the three kids together will be showcased in their dining area. Both pictures will be printed as large gallery wraps and finished in gorgeous float frames. Float frames, for those of you who haven’t seen them yet, are a new framing option that I recently started offering that gives a formal, finished look to gallery wraps, perfect for more traditional homes. I know they’ll be very pleased with how the prints turn out, which will surely enhance their living space with fond family memories.
